Ugandan singer and Kings Love Entertainment boss King Saha has criticised security agencies over his recent arrest, alleging that excessive force was used during the operation and that some of his supporters were seriously injured. Saha, whose real name is Mansur Ssemanda, was detained on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, after armed security personnel reportedly picked him up from his residence in Kyanja. He was later released after spending several hours at Jinja Road Police Station. Speaking about the incident, the singer said he was unhappy with the manner in which the operation was conducted. He argued that the situation could have been handled differently without causing injuries or damage. According to Saha, some members of his team were caught up in the operation and sustained injuries. He said two of them were receiving treatment at Mulago Hospital, with one facing the possibility of losing a leg. The singer questioned who would eventually meet the medical expenses arising from the injuries he says were suffered during the operation. Saha also expressed concern about the long-term impact of the incident, saying that although those involved survived, the physical and emotional memories of what happened could remain with them for a long time. Saha says he would have responded to a summons The musician maintained that he is a law-abiding citizen and would have cooperated with authorities if he had been formally summoned. He questioned why security personnel allegedly resorted to force instead of simply issuing him with a summons. Saha further alleged that the operation resulted in damage to some businesses and vehicles in the area. He said he had no objection to being arrested if authorities had followed the proper procedure. The singer also claimed that after his arrest, he was taken to an undisclosed location where he was allegedly assaulted with wires and sticks. These claims have not been independently verified, and security agencies had not publicly provided a detailed account responding to all of Saha's allegations at the time of reporting. Injured team members treated at Mulago Following his release, Saha went to Mulago Hospital to check on members of his team who had been injured during the incident. Videos from the hospital showed some of the affected individuals receiving medical treatment, with reports indicating that at least one had suffered a serious leg injury. The incident came just days before Saha's Tondeka Ekololo Festival, which was scheduled for August 14 at Kololo Independence Grounds. Despite the controversy surrounding his arrest, the concert went ahead and attracted a large crowd, with Saha eventually taking the stage before thousands of fans.
