Song description
Saala Ya Mutima, meaning “the heart’s prayer,” is a heartfelt Reggae Gospel song by Damasco Ssesanga. In the song, he turns to God with a personal request to listen to him as he sings, because music is the way he expresses many of the messages and feelings within his heart. Rather than treating singing as just entertainment, Damasco presents it as a form of prayer and communication with God. The relaxed Reggae Gospel sound gives the message a calm and reflective feeling, allowing the song to come across as a sincere conversation between the singer and his Creator.
